Northern are encouraging station groups to get involved in the 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaign - 25th March to 10th April. The Friends of Hunmanby station’s event will be a litter pick of the 2.5 mile 'Hunmanby Good Food & Real Ale Trail.' Hunmanby in Bloom have kindly supplied litter pickers and hoops, Scarborough Borough Council waste bags and collection of bagged waste after the event. Please bring own gloves. Dave Wells, Landlord of the Horseshoe Public House on Stonegate has kindly offered, toilet facilities and a cup of tea outside (weather forecast is good) or inside if wet.

Thursday 31st March, Trip by train to Bridlington, guided walk by the Bridlington Renaissance Project.
Friends of Hunmanby Railway Station is organising a trip to Bridlington, and appreciate the offer of a leisurely, guided walk, of about 90 minutes to 105 minutes by, Denise Cowling, Bridlington Renaissance Coordinator and Andrew Uttley, Bridlington Renaissance, Townscape Heritage Officer, looking at ways Bridlington has been improved since 2003 when Bridlington Renaissance was formed. As we get off the train, a chance to see the North Eastern Railway restored tile map, appreciate the work put in looking after the flower display, then, Station Plaza, Hilderthorpe Road, Gypsey Race Park, New Beck Hill, King Street -start of the Townscape Heritage Area, Prince Street, Esplanade -past Crescent Gardens, to Regent Gardens/ East Riding Leisure Centre, to return to the station or perhaps sample some Bridlington Fish & Chips. Trains return from Bridlington on the hour.
Leaving from Hunmanby on the 10:20 train. (or from Scarborough 10.00, Seamer 10:05, Filey 10:15 and Bempton 10:30). Off Peak Return from Hunmanby to Bridlington is £6.10, with a Railcard £4, or Duo for 2 £8.80
The most scenic section of the Hull to Scarborough line is between Hunmanby and Bridlington, great wildlife, deer, barn owls, hares, the white cliffs of the beautiful view over Sowerby Hall to the White Cliffs of Flamborough.
