Local Information
There is so much to see and do in Filey and the Surrounding Area. This is very much in development, but here we hope to have links to lots of different groups and organisations in area and some interesting walks and things to do.
Filey Bay Initiative Leaflets
The leaflets describing the walks around Filey are from a series of publications produced by Filey Bay Initiative (FBI).
The prime objective of the group was to explore the history of the Filey Bay and its surrounding area, to educate and preserve the areas heritage, to source funding for research and exploration, and to encourage visitor numbers.
Although no longer an active organisation, the legacy of the work conducted by this group is evident in projects visible around the town. FBI sourced major funding for the early exploration of the wreck of the Bonhomme Richard, delved into the history of Blackburn Aviation’s links with the town and assisted in archaeological digs in a variety of locations.
* Some details may have changed since these have been created such as building use (Ackworth House/Downcliffe etc.)
Please take care when walking and reading and observe any signage.
