Hello everybody. I just want to introduce myself for the first time.
As some of you will already know I’m Lion Brenda Casey and have just taken over as President of the Filey & District Lions Club having been a member for 6 years. I also have the honour of being the first Lady President of our club.
It is a great honour and I’m going to do my best for the Club and you, the people we serve in our area.
We serve Filey and the surrounding villages which includes Flixton, Folkton, Hunmanby, Speeton, Reighton, Primrose Valley, Gristhorpe and Lebberston.
I would like to send a massive thank you to Lion John Sellers who has done a truly excellent job as President of our Club over the last two years. He has keep us together in that time and has helped us move forward during some difficult times.
As a Club we are hoping to get back to normal with our annual events. Everything is in place for:
Ball Race on 3rd August
10K Beach Race on 25th September.
Bonfire & Firework display on 5th November
Over 85’s Christmas lunch at the Academy (top school). Date to be finalised.
Of course that will lead us onto our very popular Santa sleigh runs.
As Lions we get as much pleasure out of doing this as the children (and adults!!) do. What a treat it is to see the children’s faces when Santa arrives.
We are looking forward to all these events and hope you support us in our efforts.
