Did You Know?

Did you know Filey Bay Today is 10 years old this year?

In February of 2013, I was putting together the first ever Filey Bay Today ready to go to the printers. It was a very nervous time and I wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be. I was very lucky to have lots of people in town supporting me and the magazine to ensure that first copy went out with some actual content in it! You can read the very first issue of Filey Bay Today here!

Some of you might not know this, but my mum and dad were not that keen right at the start, so as every young girl does, I completely ignored their opinion and their advice and did it anyway! Luckily for me, they got behind it and have helped tirelessly since those early days.

A lot has changed in the magazine since the early days, some features have come and gone as volunteer writers and contributors have changed role, groups, the area etc. The look and feel of the magazine changed in 2020 when we had our rebrand with the help of my friends at Ships and Pigs.

We would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions or would like to contribute anything to the magazine, email editor@fileybaytoday.co.uk.

Towards 2023, we are looking at once again improving and streamlining our online offer and continuing to promote all that is going on from Reighton to Cayton Bay, Filey to Wold Newton and beyond!

In preparation for our Birthday, we have released our Birthday Grant Application Forms. We are all volunteers at Filey Bay Today, so our profits from sales and advertising are given back to the community that we endeavour to promote. We have already given back £30,000 to the community and in March we will be adding to this total. If you would like to apply follow the link above for an application form.

If you have been reading Filey Bay Today for 10 years, 10 months or just 10 days, thank you!
