Christmas Festivities for all tastes

There is plenty of choice in Filey and the surrounding villages for special Christmas meals this year. Here are some examples of what is on offer in our area.

The White Lodge, Filey

Arguably one of the finest hotel locations in the UK, the White Lodge offers a panoramic view of Filey Bay from its dining room. A daily lunch and dinner menu are served seven days a week, with snacks and drinks also available in the lounge and bar areas. The décor is contemporary and yet in keeping with the character of this 19th century building.

Christmas Party nights with a special menu are available here this Christmas, with drinks bundles and a DJ providing the festive atmosphere on December 9th, 10th, 16th, and 17th. Dance yourself dizzy until 12.30am. Booking 01723 514771.



The Star, Filey

This very popular Pub & Restaurant in central Filey is a firm favourite with locals and holiday makers alike. With a separate dining area as well as tables in the spacious bar you can enjoy the regular menu and specials in comfort all year round.

This Christmas a special seasonal menu will be served from the 2nd to 24th of December (exclusions apply). Booking is always advised on 01723 512031.







The Foxhounds, Flixton

This village pub, recently refurbished, has a large main bar together with two restaurants. A popular venue for home-cooked meals served throughout the day, with huge portions a speciality. Three changing guest beers are offered. A smoking/drinking area is adjacent to the spacious car park. Fish and Chips are also available to take away.

From December 1st to December 24th excluding Sundays and Mondays, bookings are available from 12 noon till 7:30pm for the ‘Christmas Fayre’ menu. 01723 890301.



The Glass House, Filey

This newly created restaurant and bar space, adjacent to the 19th century building Cliff House (formerly Charlotte’s Restaurant) is a spectacular addition to the dining options in Filey. The new building houses the famous Vine, which at nearly 200 years is the second oldest in the country. Both Emily Bronte and J. R. Tolkien stayed at Cliff House and you too and enjoy this special place all year round.

The Christmas menu will be available from 1st December this year. Christmas Party Nights are also being held with DJ Mick Britton and a three-course meal on the Fridays 2nd, 9th, and 16th of December.

The Farrier, Cayton

This multi award winning restaurant and bar (also with some beautiful rooms for overnight stays) has quickly become a favoured destination in our region. Following numerous national TV and both regional and national press features, The Farrier has built a reputation second to none.

All Seasons Hotel, Filey

An award-winning hotel that has recently doubled its size and now boasts a beautiful dining room and café bar. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available daily as are coffee and cakes.

All Seasons is the highest rated Luxury Boutique Hotel on TripAdvisor in the North of England – a total of 846 reviews, every one scoring a maximum 100% five-star rating.

The Buccaneer, Filey

The Buccaneer is situated within what was the Grand Theatre, which operated also as a cinema between 1911 and 1995. The original entrance way is still in place and you ascend the stairs to what was the balcony of the cinema, which is now greatly extended to form a restaurant and separate bar area.

This popular venue offers a lunch and evening meal menu seven days a week from 11am, with live entertainment in the evening at weekends. Christmas Day reservations are being taken on 01723 518504.


The Piebald Inn, Hunmanby

Known far and wide for its highly acclaimed pie menu, on which much-loved classics are joined by tempting recipes not to be found anywhere else, The Piebald offers a menu with plenty of options for those in the mood for something different seven days a week from 12 noon.

The spacious dining room offers a friendly and intimate dining experience. There is an area in the bar where dogs are welcome, and if weather permits – plenty of room on the patio which overlooks the beautiful, landscaped garden.

The Station Hotel Filey

The railway came to Filey in 1847, though when the ‘Top House’ became the Station Hotel is not clear. This large pub and eatery boasts several generously sized rooms and a spacious beer garden too. A family friendly environment which also welcomes dogs, a full menu is on offer seven days a week from 12 noon.
