Works do? Family gathering? Dinner for two? Where are you planning to celebrate the joys of the season with a meal out? There are plenty of venues offering different dining experiences that will suit every budget and taste. Please secure your place by booking early and remember, if your circumstances change and you need to alter arrangements/cancel the booking give as much notice as possible to give the venue chance to cover the changes.
The Glasshouse at Charlottes have their Christmas menu on offer between 1st & 21st December. A traditional choice of two or three courses (£29.95 pp or £34.95pp) enjoy the experience in the beautifully decorated space. Party Nights on are also on offer on Saturday 13th & Saturday 20th December hosted by Lindy. £40 pp for a three-course meal and a disco till late. £10 deposit per person will secure your booking.

With beautiful views from the dining room Filey Golf Club have a 2 or 3 course menu available from 24th November. You don’t need to be a member to enjoy celebrating the season, but places are filling fast so please check availability on 01723 513293 ext. 3. Two courses £25.95 pp or three courses £32.95pp.
Centred in the middle of town The Star is a favourite dining spot. Starting Monday 1st December and running (with certain exceptions) until Wednesday 24th December the festive menu offers a mix of traditional and unexpected choices sure to delight diners for those wanting more than usual turkey and trimmings. Booking, either in person or by phone 01723 512031 and pre-ordering is essential along with a deposit of £5 pp. Two courses £29.95, three courses £31.95.

Fancy a Festive Brunch? Pop along to Fadó & Tide on Wednesday 3rd 10th or 17th December or Thursday 4th 11th or 18th December from 12.30 pm for delicious food, a seasonal drink and live music from 1.30pm. £24.95 pp. This newly opened venue has quickly come to be the popular watering hole on Murray Street with a great atmosphere and a warm welcome.
The iconic White Lodge Hotel are hosting a Party Night. Join in the fun on Saturday 6th December. Contact the hotel for details and booking 01723 514771.
Located in Hunmanby and set in secluded grounds Wrangham House offers Georgian period elegance for a wonderful dining experience. Their Christmas Menu is available from 1st to 24th December. Also, in Hunmanby The White Swan can help you celebrate. Not everyone wants to or can cook a full-blown Festive Feast, but the White Swan can take away all the stress. The kitchen will be cooking up a storm of pre-prepared dinners to be delivered on Christmas Eve ready for you to warm up and enjoy. Order through Just Eat adults £17.99pp children £9.99. You can also book your party large or small in their Function Room, just talk to a member of staff and see if they can meet your requirements.
Orchard Lodge Wolds Restaurant in the village of Flixton have a well-deserved reputation for fine dining having gained and retained numerous awards including the coveted Two Rosette award from the AA. Their Wolds at Christmas tasting menu runs from 16th to 20th December. A beautiful selection of locally sourced ingredients put together by the creative genius of Chef Michael produces six dishes to delight those who love something different. Also, in Flixton the Foxhound Inn is offering something a bit different. Starting Tuesday 18th November to Wednesday 31st December (excluding Sundays) they are putting on a menu described as a Christmas Street Market with a variety of dishes at various price points that will enable you to mix and match to suit your taste and appetite. The Party Nights take place on Friday 19th December & Wednesday 31st December. Disco down from 9pm to 12/12.30am. Don’t forget you can forego the Christmas Meal preparation by ordering from their extensive Christmas Dinner Take away Menu available to collect on 23rd & 24th December (don’t forget the battered parsnips). Pre book to make sure to accommodate your party large or small.

Travelling further afield there are opportunities to try new places or revisit an old favourite. Christmas at Wilsons Food Hall. Located in Seamer, Wilsons Food Hall have dates starting Saturday 1st November to Sunday 21st December available for a festive lunchtime treat. Between 12noon and 4pm enjoy a choice of 2 or 3 courses including a spiced apple and parsnip soup, a roast turkey, cranberry, and stuffing pie. The Farrier in Cayton have a Christmas Menu on offer from Friday 28th November to Wednesday 31st December for parties of six and above. Early booking advisable on 01723861432. A deposit is payable on booking with the full payment due two weeks before your booking. Three courses £50pp
Just down the road in Killerby pop into Nine Eighty Bar & Bistro. A fantastic warm friendly place serving great food. Party Nights Saturday 5th & 13th December serving food from 7pm to 8.30pm when live music will follow to entertain diners till 11pm. Sometimes dining out is not for everyone, don’t forget our cafes and take aways add Festive Food to their menus so a quick turkey and stuffing sandwich can be found in lots of places along with sweet treats and tasty coffees. Support whoever you’re able and spread the Christmas Cheer.
Writing this has had my mouth watering and wondering how many of the venues I could possibly fit in before I go into hibernation!
