It has been a tough year for everyone this year, including Filey Bay Today. However, we had great support from the local businesses for our Christmas Message campaign, raising over £800 which will be given back to the community in the form of grants for projects and activities.
Our annual grant presentations may look a little different this year depending on the Covid restrictions in March, however we still plan on being able to offer support to local projects where we can. Over the last 8 years, Filey Bay Today has contributed over £20,000 back in to the local community whether that be towards the running of the Filey Town Service, flags or litter pickers we have been able to help fund numerous projects.
As a not for profit, voluntarily run project, all our profit from sales, advertising and donations towards the Christmas messages is used to give something back – a pretty special business model if we do say so ourselves.
The diversity of the organisations that have received grants illustrates Filey Bay Today's commitment to helping all parts of the community. But of course, we can't help if you don't ask!
Applications for the 2021 Filey Bay Today grants initiative can be submitted from the first week of January, with the deadline for submissions being 21st February. Forms are available online (www.fileybaytoday.co.uk) or by emailing editor@fileybaytoday.co.uk. Once completed, forms can be returned electronically or by post. Successful applicants will be notified in early March and cheques will be presented later in the month, how will depend on the covid restriction in place at the time.
If you are an official charity, community group, or not-for-profit organisation in or around the Filey and Hunmanby area and think your organisation could benefit from this initiative, we invite you to apply now so that we can continue to make a difference that will benefit the whole area. Please note that any award must be paid into the official account linked to your charity, group or organisation. Grants cannot be paid into personal accounts.
